This game is super fun for the first 20 or so times, but then loses it's charm and has been put on the back shelf in our classroom. I call it "The Monkey in the Box".
The Monkey in the Box - The kids sit in a circle. You hold a big (bigger is better) box in your lap. (And empty giant cereal box worked for us) All the kids chant and sign along:
"What's in the box?
What's in the box?
Who knows what's in the box?"
Then you pass the box to someone in the circle and they sign something that might be in the box. (Eg. An elephant)
An elephant
An elephant
An elephant in the box
Take the elephant out...
Now what's in the box?
And it gets passed to another person. Lots of fun, and everyone will want a turn.
